I work with Denver Kids as the Chief Executive Officer. When I arrived in Aug'16 we were implementing a SEL strategy for all of our staff working with students to be certified in this body of knowledge. Our goal is to make every conversation we have with a student the best possible in order to support personal and professional development. Organizationally, we want to move in the direction of all staff to have the knowledge and support to model SEL. If we can live it in our day-to-day professional environment, then it will be easier for us to engage students at a deeper level.
