This is an interesting article based on a study released by the University of Maryland. While entering college freshmen respond that they want to be leaders in their communities and want to help others, the study shows a drop in volunteerism since 2005. Some studies show that high school students who are required to volunteer are less likely to do so than those who volunteer of their own free will.Source:
