Poll Examines Engagement, Readiness of US Students
Summary: A new Gallup poll of American students, “Engaged Today — Ready For Tomorrow,” measures the engagement, hope, entrepreneurial aspiration and career and financial literacy of students in grades 5-12.

The poll showed 50% of students surveyed feel engaged in their schools, 48% feel hopeful about the future and 61% plan to attend a 4-year college or university. Respondents were evenly split by gender and were 57% white, 19% black, 7% Asian, 3% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, with a no-response rate of 20%.
