Even though the start of school is upon us, teachers are often scrambling for last minute reading lists and needed bookstore items. As a helpful resource for teachers this year, especially in light of recent tragic events like the rally in Charlottesville over the week, the NNSTOY has recently published the “Social Justice Book List.” Partnered with the University of Phoenix, the National Network of State Teachers of the year just released this list – broken down by grade level – which was curated by real teachers with a goal of using books to start conversations, spark ideas, and present challenges to brainstorm solutions in the wake of social unrest in our country.
